Back to Preparing for the Ball

Accessibility

We are committed to making the Faelight Ball welcoming and accessible to all guests. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, please contact us in advance, and we will do our best to support your full participation and enjoyment.

Venue Considerations

The Faelight Ball takes place at Discovery Harbour in Penetanguishene, Ontario, a historic site with multiple indoor heritage buildings and adjacent outdoor areas. Because this is a historic site:

  • Some spaces may have uneven surfaces, thresholds, or steps typical of restored 19th-century structures.

  • The event will span multiple buildings and outdoor walkways, and guests will move between venues over the course of the evening.

While we strive to make the experience comfortable for everyone, please consider footwear and mobility preferences suited to historic architecture and outdoor conditions.

Weather & Outdoor Access

Part of the evening, including the Divination Parlour, Night Market, and outdoor bar, will be hosted in adjacent outdoor spaces and covered patios. Mid-May weather can be variable, so planning for layers or weather-appropriate outerwear is encouraged. A coat check will be available on site.

Assistance & Support

We are happy to assist with:

  • wayfinding and directions between event spaces

  • information about surfaces and building thresholds

  • suggestions for routes that minimize steps or uneven ground

If you use a mobility aid, have sensory considerations, require seating accommodations, or have any other accessibility requirements, please reach out to us before the event so we can find and coordinate appropriate support, if possible.

A Night of Welcome

Above all, the Faelight Ball is meant to be enjoyed.

You do not need to know the story in advance.
You do not need to act or perform.
You do not need to get anything “right.”

Come to dance, to observe, to wander, to listen, to laugh… or simply to be present beneath the lantern light. The evening will meet you where you are.
