What Not to Bring
To help ensure the Faelight Ball remains safe, elegant, and enjoyable for all guests, we kindly ask that the following items be left at home:
Weapons & Weapon Replicas
Please do not bring:
real or replica weapons
prop swords, daggers, spears, staffs, bows, or similar items
sharp or pointed accessories that could cause injury
Even decorative or costume weapons are not permitted. This includes items that are blunt, ceremonial, or peace-bonded elsewhere.
Flames, Smoke & Effects
For the safety of all guests and the historic venue, please do not bring:
open flames or candles
incense, smoke devices, or fog effects
sparklers or pyrotechnics
All lighting, atmosphere, and special effects will be provided by the event.
Oversized, Rigid, or Obstructive Costumes
We encourage creativity, but please avoid:
large wings or headpieces that extend significantly outward
rigid costume elements that restrict movement in crowds
accessories that could block walkways, seating, or dance floors
If an element makes it difficult to move comfortably or share space, it’s best admired at home.
External Sound or Lighting Devices
To preserve the atmosphere of the evening, please do not bring:
personal speakers
sound-making props
bright or flashing lights
laser pointers or glow sticks
The mood of the Ball is carefully curated, and outside effects can disrupt the experience.
Large Bags & Unnecessary Gear
To keep movement easy between buildings, we recommend avoiding:
large backpacks or bulky bags
unnecessary equipment or props
Small bags, clutches, or pouches are welcome.
Outside Food & Drink
Outside food and beverages are not permitted. The evening includes:
a seated meal
bar service
themed market offerings
If you have dietary needs or medical requirements, please contact us in advance so we can support you.
Phones, Photography & Recording
We understand that guests may wish to capture a memory of the evening, and thoughtful photography is welcome. At the same time, the Faelight Ball is a shared, immersive experience - one shaped by presence, atmosphere, and respect for one another.
To help preserve the magic for everyone, we ask that phones and cameras be used mindfully and sparingly.
Photography
Personal photos are welcome in appropriate moments and spaces.
Please be mindful of other guests, and always respect personal boundaries and consent.
If someone appears uncomfortable being photographed, please do not include them.
We encourage guests to enjoy the evening with their senses first, and to treat photography as a quiet keepsake rather than a constant activity.
Performers & Theatrical Moments
Phones, cameras, and recording devices must not be used to:
interrupt or distract performers
interfere with character interactions
document or record staged theatrical moments
break immersion during key scenes
Some moments are designed to be experienced live, in the room, and in the moment. We ask that guests refrain from filming or photographing these elements unless explicitly invited to do so.
Sound, Flash & Disruption
Please do not use:
flash photography
video lights
audible notifications
phone calls within event spaces
These can be disruptive to performers, guests, and the atmosphere of the Ball.
A Shared Experience
The Faelight Ball is fleeting by design; a night meant to be remembered more by feeling than by footage. By keeping devices discreet, you help create an environment where everyone can remain present, connected, and immersed.
Professional photography will be provided, and selected images will be shared after the event.
Thank you for helping us protect the magic of the night.
A Final Note
These guidelines exist to protect:
guest comfort and safety
accessibility and shared space
the historic venue
the immersive atmosphere of the Ball
If you’re ever unsure whether an item is appropriate, we’re happy to help - please reach out before the event.
